AI bookkeeping software for zzp'ers

Every euro you earn and spend in the Netherlands, in one place.Your tax return starts from figures already there.

Make an invoice in a minute, take a photo of a receipt: Lisa records it. Invoices, payments and expenses sit together, and you start your VAT return and your income tax return from figures already in order. For the zzp'er (a self-employed person without staff) with an eenmanszaak (a sole proprietorship), in the KOR or not.

Free, no credit card needed.

You know your work. Everything else weighs on you.

“Receipts in my coat pocket, invoices in my inbox.”

One photo or PDF, and the expense is recorded, with the receipt attached.

Record an expense

“Who has paid already? How much is still outstanding?”

Each invoice with its payment: you see straight away who still has to pay.

Invoices and payments

“The VAT return is coming up and I don't know where to start.”

Your revenue and expenses for the year always at hand, and Lisa explaining the rules in plain words.

Before your return
Expenses

One photo, and the expense is recorded.

Take a photo of the receipt from the petrol station or the stationer's, upload the PDF of a purchase invoice or forward it from your inbox. Lisa reads the supplier, the date, the amount and the VAT, and suggests a category.

You check and confirm, and the receipt stays with the expense. Business costs lower your profit, and the VAT you pay on them you deduct as input VAT, unless you use the KOR.

  • Receipts and purchase invoices, from a photo, a PDF or an email
  • Supplier, date, amount and VAT read for you
  • The same file is never recorded twice

Invoices and payments

An invoice in a minute. And you know when it's paid.

Make your invoice with your client and the VAT rate, or with the KOR mention. BravoLisa records it and sends it to your client as a PDF. Upload your bank statement: its transactions become payments, and you see which invoices are still outstanding.

To businesses and private clients, you send your invoice as a PDF. If you invoice the Rijksoverheid (the Dutch central government), it must be an e-invoice, and BravoLisa doesn't make those yet. The cabinet plans to make e-invoicing mandatory from 1 July 2030 for every business that does not use the KOR.

  • Sales invoices created and sent as PDF
  • Payments from your bank statement

Lisa AI

Ask in your own words. Lisa answers with your own figures.

Lisa knows the rules on VAT, the KOR, the zelfstandigenaftrek (the self-employed deduction) and the urencriterium (the hours criterion), and she reads your invoices, expenses and payments. Ask “can I deduct this laptop?” and she answers about your invoice, not with an article.

Ask in the language you prefer, English included. From her answer you go straight to the invoice it is about.

  • Answers from your own documents
  • The rules explained in plain words, in your language
  • From the answer straight to the invoice

Can I deduct this laptop?

Yes, but not all at once. A laptop over €450 that you use for years is depreciated: its cost comes off your profit over several years. The € 315,00 VAT on your invoice for € 1.815,00 you do deduct straight away, as input VAT.

Tax returns

When the return is due, the figures are already there.

Since January you see your revenue, what your clients still owe you and which expenses have a receipt. If you use the KOR, ask Lisa how much room you have left under the limit of €20,000 revenue a year.

BravoLisa doesn't do your VAT return or your income tax return yet. You or your bookkeeper fill them in from figures already in order, each with the receipt or invoice behind it.

  • Revenue and outstanding invoices, since January
  • Every amount with the document behind it
  • The whole year's invoices and expenses in one place

Frequently asked questions

Is BravoLisa really free?

Yes. In the Netherlands BravoLisa offers the Free plan: you make PDF invoices, record payments and expenses, and Lisa reads your documents and answers your questions, at no cost and with no credit card.

Does BravoLisa do my VAT return and my income tax return?

Not yet. BravoLisa doesn't calculate your VAT return, the zelfstandigenaftrek or your income tax, doesn't log hours for the urencriterium, and files nothing with the Belastingdienst (the Dutch Tax Administration). It keeps in order the invoices, payments and expenses those returns start from, each with the document behind it. BravoLisa will also prepare the Dutch returns later.

Can I send e-invoices with BravoLisa?

Not yet. BravoLisa creates and keeps your sales and purchase invoices and sends your invoices as PDF. That is allowed to businesses that accept an invoice by email, and to private clients. If you invoice the Rijksoverheid, an e-invoice is required; for now you send it outside BravoLisa, for example through the Rijksoverheid's Leveranciersportaal (its supplier portal). The cabinet has chosen to make e-invoicing between businesses mandatory from 1 July 2030, except for those who use the KOR; the law for it is still to come. E-invoicing in BravoLisa is planned.

Does BravoLisa replace a bookkeeper?

No. BravoLisa is bookkeeping software with an AI bookkeeping assistant, not a bookkeeper or a tax adviser. Lisa applies the rules to your documents and shows where the figures come from, but she can make mistakes and gives no tax advice: for advice on your situation, go to a bookkeeper or a tax adviser. If you already have a bookkeeper, you bring them figures that are in order.

What language can I ask Lisa in?

Whichever you prefer: Dutch, English or another language. Lisa answers in the same language and explains the Dutch rules in plain words.

Can I start before I register with KVK, the Chamber of Commerce?

Yes. The account is free: create it whenever you like and record your invoices and expenses from your first working day. Costs you make before you start can be deductible too, so keep those receipts as well.
