You know your work. It's everything else that wears you down.

“Receipts end up in my pocket, invoices in my inbox.”

One photo or one PDF, and the expense is recorded with its receipt.

Expenses

One photo, and the expense is recorded.

Take a photo of the receipt from the café or the stationer's, upload a purchase invoice as a PDF, or forward it from your inbox. Lisa reads the supplier, the date, the amount and the VAT, and suggests a category.

You check, you confirm, and the receipt stays with the expense. With the Einnahmen-Ausgaben-Rechnung (Austria's cash-basis profit statement), an operating expense lowers your profit; with a Pauschalierung (a flat-rate scheme) expenses count at a flat rate, and the expense shows you what you really keep.

  • Receipts and purchase invoices, from a photo, a PDF or an email
  • Supplier, date, amount and VAT read for you
  • The same file is never recorded twice

Invoices and payments

An invoice in a minute. And you see when it's paid.

Issue your invoice or Honorarnote (the Austrian freelancer's invoice), with your client, your services and the VAT rate. BravoLisa saves it and sends it to your client as a PDF. Upload your bank statement: its lines become payments, and you see which invoices are still unpaid.

As a PDF, your invoice counts with businesses when your client agrees, and with private persons too. Only the federal government accepts nothing but e-invoices: you send those through e-Rechnung.gv.at, because BravoLisa can't do that yet.

Lisa AI

Ask in your own words. Lisa answers with your figures.

Lisa knows the rules on the Kleinunternehmerregelung, VAT, the Pauschalierung and the SVS (the social insurer of the self-employed), and she reads your invoices, expenses and payments. Ask “Am I still under the Kleinunternehmer limit?” and she answers with your revenue, not with an article.

Write to her in the language you prefer, English, Turkish or Bosnian included. From her answer you go straight to the invoices the figures come from.

Am I still under the Kleinunternehmer limit?

Yes. Since January you've billed 40.800,00 €. The Kleinunternehmerregelung limit is €55,000 of revenue a year: that leaves you 14.200,00 €.

Tax return

When your tax return is due, the figures are already there.

Since January you see what you've billed and what is still unpaid. The Kleinunternehmerregelung and the Pauschalierung both depend on revenue: ask Lisa how much you've billed so far this year, and you have the figure to start from.

BravoLisa doesn't fill in the income tax return E 1 with its annex E 1a, nor the UVA (the VAT return), and files nothing in FinanzOnline: you enter them from figures already in order, each with its receipt.

Frequently asked questions

Is BravoLisa really free?

Yes. In Austria, BravoLisa offers the Free plan: you issue invoices as PDF, record payments and expenses, and Lisa reads your receipts and answers your questions, at no cost and with no card.

Does BravoLisa do my income tax return?

Not yet. BravoLisa doesn't calculate SVS contributions, doesn't fill in the income tax return E 1 with its annex E 1a or the UVA, and files nothing in FinanzOnline. It keeps the revenue and expenses those returns start from in order, every figure with its receipt. Returns for Austria are planned.

Do I need an e-invoice in Austria?

Only for invoices to the federal government. Between businesses, Austria has no e-invoicing obligation: a PDF invoice counts when your client agrees, and with private persons too. BravoLisa creates and saves your sales and purchase invoices, and sends your invoices as PDF. Federal offices accept only the structured e-invoice (ebInterface or PEPPOL), free through e-Rechnung.gv.at; issuing and receiving e-invoices in BravoLisa is planned.

Does BravoLisa replace a Steuerberater?

No. BravoLisa is software with an AI bookkeeping assistant, not a tax adviser and not a bookkeeping firm. Lisa applies the rules to your documents and shows you where the figures come from, but she can make mistakes and is no substitute for tax advice: for your situation, talk to a Steuerberater (a licensed tax adviser). If you already have one, you bring them figures that are in order.

What language can I write to Lisa in?

Whichever you prefer: German, English, Turkish, Bosnian or another language. Lisa answers in the same language and explains Austria's rules in plain words.

Can I use BravoLisa before registering a Gewerbe?

Yes. Lisa explains the rules first, such as whether your activity needs a Gewerbe or falls under the Neue Selbständige. The account is free: open it whenever you like, and record your receipts from the first day of your activity.
